《梧桐树协议》全文

We the Subscribers, Brokers for the Purchase and Sale of the Public Stock, do hereby solemnly promise and pledge ourselves to each other, that we will not buy or sell from this day for any person whatsoever, any kind of Public Stock, at least than one quarter per cent Commission on the Specie value and that we will give preference to each other in our Negotiations. In Testimony whereof we have set our hands this 17th day of May at New York, 1792.

1792年5月17日的午后，纽约市24家股票经纪商在华尔街68号门外的一棵美国梧桐下，订立了一份被称为《梧桐树协议》的垄断协议，这份协议宣告了人类历史上第一家现代证券交易所——纽约证券交易所的诞生。现在，金融市场已经成长为庇荫全球的参天大树。
